Members' Event Diary

Events are organised and run for the enjoyment of members and their guests.

In 2023 we ran 21 activities and fundraising events which were attended by over 500 members and their guests.  

More events for 2024 will be added below as dates are finalised.

Bookings can be made online or the forms can be printed and posted.  Payment may be made by either BACS or cheque.

'Hidden Osborne' - Tour by Christopher Warleigh-Lack

Friday 11th October 2024

Christopher will again take two groups of twenty members for a 45-minute tour.

NOTE:  THE 5.25 PM TOUR IS NOW FULL.

The first group will meet at 5:25 at the green gate and be directed to the Education Suite.  The tour will be from 5:45 to 6:30.  Similarly, the second group will meet at 6:25 for a tour from 6:45 to 7:30.

Cost: £10 to include a glass of wine.

This event is only open to members of Friends of Osborne as it is usually filled immediately. We have the names of some members on a waiting list from last time...

'Princess Beatrice - Island Governor' - Talk

Members will be met at the green gate and shown to the Education Suite.

Princess Beatrice was Queen Victoria’s youngest child and closest companion. She also had a special connection to the Isle of Wight. Join us to find out more about her life and her role as Island Governor for more than 40 years.

Dr Lee Prosser is Historic Buildings Curator at Historic Royal Palaces, responsible for Kew Palace, Kensington Palace and Hillsborough Castle. He was part of the team which re-presented and conserved Kew Palace in 2006 and latterly was curatorial lead on both the restoration of the royal kitchens in 2011 and the Great Pagoda at Kew in 2018.

This is an English Heritage event...
